Pillar Consulting Group's structural engineers have the expertise to design and analyze all common building structural systems and materials. Our background includes working with reinforced concrete, post-tensioned flat slabs, precast and tilt-up concrete, strucutral steel, masonry, heavy timber, cold formed steel and light wood framing. The importance of solid analysis and design of structural systems is well understood by knowledgeable architechts, engineers, owners and developers. Pillar Consulting has been involved with hundreds of structures ranging from multi-family residential buildings to mid-rise, mixed use commercial buildings. In addition to new construction, we have performed seismic rehabilitation work in accordance with ASCE Standard 41; repaired wind damaged structures; investigated building component failures; and acted as the structural engineer-of-record on numerous remodels and additions to commercial and industrial facilities. Advanced training and software extends our capabilities into areas of specialization that include blast-resistant design of buildings and structures, physical security design, and analysis of complex systems under severe loading utilizing linear and non-linear structural dynamics.

CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN SKI LODGE Pillar Consulting Group performed the structural analysis and designed the structural framing for this 12,000 square foot, heavy timber and reinforced concrete ski lodge situated at 6,500' at Crystal Mountain in Washington, where ground snow loads exceed 600 pounds per square foot.

ELEMENTS BUILDING A six-story, mixed use building program required creative thinking for this urban infill project. As the Structural-Engineer-of-Record, Pillar Consulting Group designed a hybrid deep foundation system and steel eccentrically braced-frames to meet the projects requirements.

PEAK SUN When the owner approached our design-build team needing two hazardous industrial occupancy buildings designed within eight weeks, Pillar Consulting Group delivered. Working closely with the contractor to develop structural framing solutions which could be executed in a fast-track manner, our team successfully completed the design on schedule.

SAND & COKE SILOS Pillar Consulting Group was retained to investigate the structural safety of four aging bulk-material silos supported on structural steel towers at an industrial facility. Using advanced finite element analysis, Pillar zeroed in on not only potential problems, but solutions to keep our client's facility up and running.

WATER STREET MARKET Faced with a mandate to address seismic safety in a building over 90 years old, the owner turned to Pillar Consulting Group for assistance. We developed an investigation, testing and rehabilitation scheme to upgrade this URM building without displacing the building tenants.
